Statement: “Breathe Life” is my artistic response to the tragedy that is occurring in the U.S. as both major political parties sell out the gray wolf and bring the species closer to extinction. The Trump administration removed Endangered Species Act protection from the gray wolf, and a federal judge mostly restored it, with the glaring exception of Northern Rockies wolf populations. Without legal protection, the states of Montana and Idaho are on their way to killing 85 – 90% of their wolves, according to the respected environmental organization Predator Defense. And at least 20% of Yellowstone’s beloved wolves have been killed so far in 2021 – 2022, because once they cross the park’s boundaries hunters are waiting.

This tragic situation will only be solved by the legal system. To that end, I will donate 20% of the purchase price of “Breathe Life” to the Center for Biological Diversity, to aid in their work to save the grey wolf, and all life on Earth.

Statement: Seed, soil air, water and my somewhat limited involvement...when conditions are right and they don’t even need to be specific just adequate, plants grow, they seem to just want to. This process is fragile and under constant attack. We must protect it.

Statement: I was inspired to draw this piece after stumbling upon some heartwrenching stories about wandering seal pups found in different locations across the globe. Each individual was found 4-20 miles away from water, most seemed to have followed waterways into woods, meadows or ditches. Accumulation of reports of these unusual occurrences of grey, harbor, and sea lions were from US, Sweden, Canada, and England.
